Countdown to Halloween - Oct. 25th: Vintage Ghost Decorations

It's just not a spooky Halloween with out a few ghosts haunting about--here's some collectible items recently spotted at eBay. I like the old Gurley ghost candle above.

Question: I know nothing about vintage Halloween collectibles, but I'm just starting to get into it. Of all the books on the subject available at Amazon, which do you think would be of most use to a beginner, as far as having lots of photos as well as advice about how to spot originals? I've seen tons of vintage-looking items at thrift stores in the past month, but I have absolutely no idea how to tell what's a good find.

My suggestion would be these resources:

Mark Ledenbach:

www.halloweencollector.com

His book on Halloween collectibles is great.

Claire Lavin has a book on Beistle collectibles called Timeless Halloween collectibles which is great.

Here's a link to various sources for Halloween collectibles:

Stuart Schneider is also coming out with a new edition this fall of his Halloween collectibles guide.

Thanks for the recommendations. Reckon I'll be getting one of those as a Christmas present to myself.
