Better Homes & Gardens 2014 Halloween Tricks & Treats Issue

Better Homes & Gardens Halloween Tricks & Treats issue is out on the stands now. Thanks to Ronda at Old Fashion Halloween for the heads up. This issue is always the start to the Halloween fall/October magazine scene.

I took a few snapshots of some of the pages inside. I liked the mantel with the silhouettes of Halloween "characters" or people costumed as characters--very festive. The spooky cake looks yummy and I really like how they created a pumpkin decoration using a plant stand - looks like a creepy caped figure--a nice idea if you don't want to buy figures and go to that expense.

There is an article in this issue that is recycled from last year's Family Circle magazine which I profiled here at the Blog, featuring candy and pumpkins--thought it looked familiar!

2013 BH&G Halloween Magazine #2

Here's a couple more fun images from this year's Better Homes & Gardens Tricks and Treats Halloween Issue:

I like the display of pumpkins including some darker/white in the mix.

Loved the Crime Lab Party ideas--especially the fingerprint pillow above! So Nancy Drew!

The ad for foam crafts was filled with lots of ideas--10 pages worth--I liked these picks for photo props/decorations.

Had to include this ad for Starburst Candy Corn! I'm not sure if this has been out before this year, but I'm definitely trying some this year...

2013 BH&G Halloween Magazine

I picked up the Halloween issue of Better Homes and Gardens - Tricks and Treats - this past weekend and enjoyed it. There were quite a few articles and party themes throughout but I enjoyed the chalk pumpkins, the wreath article, and the crime lab party especially. There was a 10 page Flora Craft ad featuring all the neat things you can do with styrofoam which I enjoyed quite a bit. Here's a few preview images from the wreath article that I liked:

Better Homes & Gardens Tricks & Treats Halloween Magazine #2

Better Homes & Gardens Tricks & Treats Magazine #2

Here are a couple of other ideas I enjoyed from this year's BH&G Halloween issue--the serving set up using a cute witch hat as a topper along with the hands and crackers. We sell a set of spooky crackers at The Vintage Halloween Store if you're looking for a festive and "noise making" favor for this year's party.

And this page has some cute ideas for decorating and favors:

Better Homes & Gardens Tricks & Treats Halloween Magazine

Better Homes & Gardens Halloween Tricks & Treats

I picked up the 2012 Better Homes & Gardens Tricks & Treats magazine today and found several clever items I'll be previewing here. One of my favorite articles in this issue was "The Witching Hour" party which featured mostly a black/white theme that included some great silhouettes! Here's one clever way they dressed up drink bottles with silhouettes of witch heads:

2011 BH&G Halloween Issue Out

The 2011 Halloween BH&G issue is out and I've really enjoyed it. It boasts 233 thrilling ideas and downloads.

Some of my favorite articles inside include the following:

Stylishly Bleak - Black/white decor with some very clever ideas including black candelabras and clip art for hanging.

Skeleton Crew - Imagine driving down your block and coming across skelton's climbing up onto a house in a clever manner. Or opening a door to a skeleton hostess complete with a tray of goodies.

Cameo Appearance - cute ideas for cupcake picks.

I love the witch lady stand-up on page 49--very clever.

A Mad Tea Party - very clever and lavish ideas.

Black and White Magic - more great black/white decor.

Eye Spy - an article by Matthew Mead with clever ways to dress up lanterns and urns and other eye catching decor.

Thumbs up to this issue!

Jenn:)
