Martha Stewart 2013 Halloween Special Issue

This year we have a Martha Stewart Halloween special issue on the stands thanks to Fairy GrandMartha! Fans of Martha Stewart Living will no doubt be thrilled to find the issue. There is a little bit of old content, but lots of new interesting ideas and great photographs and instructions as always.

There are some great paper craft ideas for loot bags, cupcake toppers, and hanging decorations - with clip art you can access at the website. There's pumpkin decorating ideas, sweetly sinister treats, and some neat costume suggestions. The "infested" article on bugs and such features a "wasp" nest complete with clip art wasps that is sure to creep you out--it certainly did me! Eeewe! I like the French inspired costumes - quite artsy.

Here are some images I snapped while flipping through the issue--the fossil cookies and the paper tombstone luminaries were especially cool:

2013 Halloween at Sam's

I was at Sam's Club and spotted these fun candy filled boxes you could get to hand out to the trick or treaters - they also had some fun Halloween character styles too for even younger kids. For candy corn enthusiasts, a huge bag of candy corn! And Matthew Mead's Halloween Spooktacular with a 2nd cover and about half the size of the one you can order at Amazon.com.

2013 Halloween at Home Goods #1

Spooky skulls, skellies and more at Home Goods. If you have a Home Goods in your area (in same family as T.J. Maxx and Marshall's), check yours out. I recently went for the first time and was excited to see the huge amount of Halloween stuff there! I took a lot of pics which I'll be sharing here and at Facebook and Pinterest.

2013 Halloween Odds & Ends #2

More odds and ends seen at various stores. Above are neat skull lights at Big Lots. Below is a spell book decoration from Kirkland's - looks just like one found at Michael's too.

Above is a fun bubble style light up - has glitter you can shake up and a light on the bottom you can turn on. Got this at Garden Ridge. Also at Garden Ridge is a Snoopy Light Up:

Halloween Decorating Idea - Witchy Candle Holder

I loved the glass at Kirkland's above--but decided to not use it for wine and as a candle holder instead--got a 2nd one to go with it. Here it is all lit up:

2013 BH&G Halloween Magazine #2

Here's a couple more fun images from this year's Better Homes & Gardens Tricks and Treats Halloween Issue:

I like the display of pumpkins including some darker/white in the mix.

Loved the Crime Lab Party ideas--especially the fingerprint pillow above! So Nancy Drew!

The ad for foam crafts was filled with lots of ideas--10 pages worth--I liked these picks for photo props/decorations.

Had to include this ad for Starburst Candy Corn! I'm not sure if this has been out before this year, but I'm definitely trying some this year...

At T.J. Maxx, I spotted in the kitchen area this jar with chalk label - the colors would make it perfect for Halloween uses.

Wal-Mart is carrying these pet ghosts again from Hallmark:

Garden Ridge has these skull wreaths:

Found this burlap fabric at Hobby Lobby - It's neat!

2013 BH&G Halloween Magazine

I picked up the Halloween issue of Better Homes and Gardens - Tricks and Treats - this past weekend and enjoyed it. There were quite a few articles and party themes throughout but I enjoyed the chalk pumpkins, the wreath article, and the crime lab party especially. There was a 10 page Flora Craft ad featuring all the neat things you can do with styrofoam which I enjoyed quite a bit. Here's a few preview images from the wreath article that I liked:
