Vintage Style Halloween Invites

A great way to have a vintage style Halloween party is to recreate a  vintage invitation for your guests - like this old Dennison invite. Take vintage imagery and use the wording of the old invites like this one:

"When the Hallowe'en Cat
Winks his wild yellow eyes
And the Wicked Witch watches
And the black  Crow cries
Come, join the revel
In the moon's ghostly light"

Spooktacular Halloween Party Invites

Calling All Spooky Party Guests!

Getting people to your Halloween party might be easy if you're know for throwing a fabulous affair :) Sometimes it doesn't hurt to pamper them a little with a fun and festive invite! We've got several festive invites at The Vintage Halloween Store. These 2 invitation kits from Martha Stewart are clever! The Spinner Invites shown above have a real working spinner and the striped envelopes lined with orange paper are so clever.

The Specimin Box Invites are a sweetly sinister way to entice some spooksters to join you as well!

Whatever you do this Halloween, make sure your invitations are memorable and Spooktacular!

Oct. 4 - Day 4: Vintage Halloween Invitations

Vintage Halloween Party Invites

Here is a sampling of some vintage Halloween invites I spotted at eBay. They're quaint and pretty simple in design and wording.

If you're looking for ideas for your party invites this year and you want to go vintage but don't have a lot of time to get crafty, just photocopy some vintage invites to use for your party. Embellish them with sparkles or glitter if you like. Or if you have time to be even craftier, use vintage image and make your own.

I like the "Kindly respond to" on the above invitation.

One of my favorite invitation wordings that I use on some cards in our Halloween shop is the following:

Come, Jack'o'-Lanterns, gather, And Jill-o'-Lanterns, too. Meet at the Witch's Hollow And Taste the Witch's Brew. The Password's, flying broomsticks, Cat's Green Eyes, Me-ouw, So if you would be jolly Just come, we'll show you how.

This Hallmark invite isn't as old--but I like the silhouette of the witch on it:

Countdown to Halloween - Oct. 6th: Halloween Invitations

The Halloween Invitation

A great Halloween party begins with the invitation and it should beckon your guests to attend your party with Spooktacular flair! Vintage invitations are a great way to set the mood--copy favorites or make your own vintage style invites.

It's fun to go vintage and shown here are several invitations that are festive and have some clever wording you may wish to borrow for your invitations. The above invite states:

The Witch is Casting a Spell
To Make the Black Cat Dance
On Halloween I'm Giving a Party
Won't You Come and Take a Chance?

Simply stated: You are cordially invited to a Halloween Party...

Owl Invitation

A Halloween Party There's Going To Be
And I Hope You'll Surely Be There
For Goblins And Spooks
We're Likely to see
And Witches That Fly In The Air

The Invitation: Make it Spooktacular!

Bogie Book Image

As taken from our Party Ideas page at our website:

The Invitation:

Invitations should be bold and have an air of mystery to set a haunting mood and entice your guests.

Suggestions include: handmade paper invites or computer printed invites with magical wording.

Use images with vintage flair or copies of old images from vintage postcards and other paper ephemera.

Some examples of old-time invitation wording:

"Won't you come and
Sport with fate
on Hallowe'en
at -------- o'clock"

Whe-ee - Who-oo!
We-want-you oo
At this number:_____
On this street_______
Hallowe'en's the time
We meet

If on a broomstick you can't fly
Some other way of traveling try,
But come you must, at _____o'clock
to _____________St.

Come to our
Hallowe'en "Hoop-te-dee"
Scare-crows -
'n everything
on a Spree!

Other invitation suggestions include delivering jack o' lanterns to your invitees, asking guests to bring a jack o' lantern as their ticket of entry, and creating a box filled with trinkets and favors along with the RSVP information.

Need some ideas on invitations or want something in a hurry already put together, check our our website shop!

Here's an interesting Halloween invitation referencing noisemakers and showing a noisemaker or two on the invite--a nice tie-in to a noisemaker collection!
