Sleepy Hollow - Great Halloween & Party Ideas!

FOX's Sleepy Hollow premiers tonight based no the old Washington Irving tale The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with the sinister Headless Horseman running amok in modern day as well as Ichabod Crane. If you are interested in the show and the story, how about a Sleepy Hollow/Headless Horseman theme for your Halloween parties and decorating this year? 2013 Halloween at JoAnn #2

More Halloween at JoAnn - the skeleton outdoor stake above also comes with a purple bow. I liked the straws and there's a running theme of keys too in the decor, the box comes in two sizes and opens up to hide your spells or other spooky things! A Raven and Nevermore/Poe theme.

I'm not sure how much Martha Stewart Halloween that J.C. Penney will be carrying in stores, but I saw a few items online including the card above and the plates below which I really like.

Cool stuff at Sur La Table - skeleton spatula above, the skeleton ice mold below are fun. The lollipop sticks are great for making cupcake picks!

Rachael Ray Halloween - October 2013 Issue

I picked up the Every Day with Rachael Ray - October 2013 issue and it's a pretty good issue as to Halloween content this year! I've included some pics below while checking out the issue--I loved the humorous take on pumpkin decorating--very clever I thought.There's some good ideas and recipes and I like the apple cider recipe to make your own homemade cider. Yum. Candy Corn pretzels - Delish!

Collecting Vintage Halloween - Dennison Owl Diecut

Owls are particular in season this year--I'm seeing them everywhere! If you like to collect owls and vintage Halloween, you're in luck because owls were used quite a bit in vintage decorations, games, and noisemakers. You can find old diecuts like the one above that recently sold at eBay. It was made by the Dennison company. It sold for $41.00.

Mummy Cats anyone? More goodies from World Market - like the treat buckets and purchased the poison bottle measuring cups--be fun to use these for putting trinkets or candy into on your dessert buffet or sauces on the food buffet.
